SAATH focuses on people who live in the slums and have proven that these people are excellent credit risks and will pay back their loans.
With SAATH I was particularly interested in their Home Manager Program - which is another great MicroFranchising Program. The program attempts to bridge the gap between domestic servants and urban households with an aim to provide urban households with a reliable, efficient and professional Home Manager.
SAATH trains housemaids according to rigorous standards and then places them as "Home Managers" in homes that need them. The attendance on the job is guaranteed by the organization and each Home Manager exhibits regularity, efficiency and quality of work.
In addition to housekeeping, Home Managers may also be trained in Child Care, Patient Care and Old Age Care. The Home Manager undergoes a police check and health check before being allowed into the program. They are also taught about and required to exhibit superior personal hygiene and cleanliness. They are also taught communications and etiquette.
SAATH often does the training and provides overall management and control and matching Home Managers with those who need these services. They have MicroFranchise Managers (currently five) who then manage and oversee the work of a number of Home Managers. In the event that a particular Home Manager is sick - SAATH provides a replacement and continuously monitor the quality of the Home Managers work and the happiness of the client.
