My new friend Vikash connected me with Raman Machiraaju, Vice President Marketing and overall manager of Hyderabad operations for Elitzer IT Solutions.  Raman is an adviser and mentor to Vikash and his microcredit website and newsletter - as well as they are partners in new ventures they are considering on doing in the future.  Raman both spent time with me relative to his company's software packages in microcredit and livelihood creation - he also was my overall host of my visits in Hyderabad, taking me to visit C S Reddy - Chief Executive Officer of APMAS  a think tank/consultancy firm focusing on Self Help Groups (SHG's), Ali Asghar - Executive Director of Roshan Vikas a Urban Microcredit Institution and Dr. D. Hanumantha Rao, Professor and Director of a Rural Institute providing various job training programs - primarily for those 15 to 25 years old.  I will blog on each of these when I get a chance.

Here is the description of Raman that Vikash has on his website - Micro Finance Focus:

"Hyderabad   Post Graduate in Management with specialization in Marketing. Equipped  with more than 2 decades of Sales & Marketing Experience in pharmaceutical industry and has got strong passion to support any development initiatives especially Micro Finance and Micro Enterprise areas. With a passion in Rural Marketing & Micro Enterprise took up an assignment with Marketing And Research Team MART - New Delhi and Headed the team involved in implementing "Project Shakti" a rural initiative initiated by Hindustan UNILEVER Limited. In addition, Raman invited me to his flat (see photos) and oversaw my well being throughout my more than a week here in Hyderabad.  For his many kindnesses and sharing of his wisdom I am most grateful.

Hi Raman - thank you for your kind comments and for coming buy last evening. I am hopeful that my trip is going to loop back to Hyderabad as there are still places to visit here - and I would very much like to be able to take you up on your invitation to take a sight seeing train trip with you and to meet your wife and son. I also look forward to your comments on my blog along the way.
