Boy was that quick. I post the openning ceremony and next post the closing ceremony :-) I am sorry - but things have been so jam packed that I have not been able to blog on the three days activities that happened in between. I hope that in the next several days (today I have a post Summit all day workshop, tomorrow Dr. Kulkarni and two other delegates to the conference and I will be touring Bali together with a hired car and driver and Saturday I fly to Chennai, India). As I write it is 3:20 in the morning.

The closing ceremony was a spectacular grand banquet and seemed like lovefest. The former President of Peru, a very dynamic speaker was the keynote speaker. He dedicated the rest of his life to serving the poor. (Was I at an old time revival meeting?)

Yunus - as always was the rock star, dynamic, gracious - clearly the inspirational leader of this incredible movement - clearly having a wonderful time posing with what seemed like everyone who was in the hall - all of which wanted to have as what seemed like a trouphy our picture with this icon of humanatarian change. Sam Daley-Harris, CEO of the Microcredit Summits closing the unbelievable event that will no doubt be remembered as a great milestone in the history of the movement. Lots of Bali entertainment and buffet food for all. Yes - you are not the first one to wonder about such a grand event in the name of serving poverty. Yes - we all felt a little bit of hypocrisy relative to that - but for these three days - we would share with one another this hypocrisy - while at the same time having a peak experience in the middle of it. All of us - and particularly me feeling very touched and honored to have been a part of this conference and a part of this movement.
