Hi Friends:

Updated version with photos and additional description.

I have been having trouble loading photos and having enough time to blog.

This is a very exciting conference.  926 people from 50 nations - all dedicated to aleviating poverty.  Most of the worlds's greatest leaders in Micorcredit, starting with Professor Muhammad Yunus are here.  It is an incredibly good place to network.  The last two buffet lunches I looked for someone sitting alone - went over and told them that I thought they look interesting and the joined the for two incredible discussions.  Both were from India.  Both want me to visit them in India.  It looks like one will fit into my schedule.

I would like to learn more
Hi Marty and all,
I would love to learn more about the people attending this conference and what I can do. I realize i will never have much money, only myself to give. I'm in Thailand about to enter a silent meditation retreat for 12 days in Chaya. The monastery is Suan Mokkh. Then, I'm going to Bali on the 12th for a few weeks and back to Singapore. I am still thinking about lights and what people need and schools and education and water. Enjoy the learning and the trip.

Hi Barb
Charlie did not come to Bali. I am told that he went to Africa. I talked with Sam Daley-Harris and he has many of the same concerns that I expressed in my e-mail that you or Taylor forwarded to Charlie.

Sam indicated that he was appreciating the support that he received at his RESULTS meetings and that some of the HUBies have joined RESULTS.

Sam is talking about coming to Santa Barbara. I will host him and I told him that I expected he would have a lot of interest and possible support from Santa Barbara HUBies.

Re: I would like to learn more
Hi Nancy:

Good to hear from you - looks like we almost wound up in Bali at the same time. Enjoy your silent retreat. See my comments to Sarah relative to Solar Light. I'll comment later - when I get home on your questions on how you might become involved and who was at the Summit.
