Kinda lazy start to the day and more turtle feeding whilst fending off the Canadian geese. It is hot and sticky - we really feel like we're in the South now. It was only a short drive to Little Rock - lots of trees and greenery. Found the $53 La Quinta easily and we have a good room. It is opposite the zoo - so in 95F sticky heat we headed off.
It was $8 to get in and we saw 3 other people the whole time we were. It was very humid as we set off seeing the usual suspects and after an hour, just as it started to rain, we came across 2 beautiful bear cubs. Their mum had died of cancer a few days after they were born and they have been brought up by keepers. When we turned the corner they were indulging on some rough-housing with each other but immediately broke that up and scampered over to see us. Later on we found the gorillas who had a one year old baby with them who was very cute
It is a small museum but very good for the money. A trip to a Starbucks on the way to downtown was followed by a trip to the Clinton shop and a wander along the waterfront.
In the evening we returned to downtown and had an EXCELLENT meal in Bokos - it is in our top 5 best meals of the trip.
Back in the hotel we watched the EXCELLENT "Hot Fuzz" - probably even more funny now we've been in the States for 5 months as it depicts English village life so well.
