Another amazing ride along empty corn-fields to Memphis in 85F heat. We found Graceland very easily and after been taken for $6 parking and $25 each to get in >>> we found it a good attraction and worth the money.

The house was built in 1939 for a doctor who sold it to Elvis in 1957 when he was 22yrs for $100,000 - quite a lot of money at the time but it came with 14 acres. The house is named after the grandmother of the doctor's wife who gave then the money to pay for the land and house. The furnishings have remained as they were when he died in 1977 and there are few pictures below. They have also added a museum on the opposite side of the road with all his old gold records and show costumes, plus his customised jet (Lisa Marie) is also on display there.

Elvis is buried here with his mother  and father. His mother who died before him was moved from Tupelo - where they lived and where Elvis was born in 1935.

Fortunately the BW we're in is just round the corner from Graceland and it is very nice with a large room and excellent pool >> so we have had an excellent day. We'll have to see if immigration can change all that tomorrow.
