Well >>>  to all you folks who thought a six-month sabbatical is their idea of heaven....

I guess if you're Joan Collins or Prince Charles then travelling is probably a breeze, for us on the other hand it's like the Rostovs leaving Moscow in War&Peace. We feel like refugees as we decide what to take....and then move all the other stuff into storage.

Fortunately we didn't have to move all the furniture as we're very lucky to have managed to rent the house to The National Grid. They want to use it for employees moving into the area while they find their own places - we get a gardener and cleaners thrown in - so it's going to be a mini Raj here while we're away.

The fish have all left for their holiday homes (in their own version of a tsunami every time we went round a corner) thanks to Stevie and Geoff.

It's all been rather stressful as we get everything ready to go, but I guess once we're at the airport we'll chill out again.

We're arriving in Orlando on Wednesday afternoon but pressing on the next day to the Florida panhandle and then following the Gulf Coast thru Panama City FL, Mobile AL and Biloxi MS to New Orleans (where we change vehicles to a Hummer with additional armour plating). By this time next month we'll be up in Deadwood, South Dakota - viewing the Devil's Tower and Wild Bill Hickok's grave. Wow.

Hope you enjoy the Trip.
