Continuing our journey we decided to take the coast road, and passed the towns of Seaford, and Newhaven before arriving in Brighton.
Bulletin - the sun is alive and well in England. It finally showed itself by early afternoon. Afterwards basking in its warmth we wandered the shopping lanes where Carolyn purchased a beautiful scarf. It was time for a bit of food, so we stopped at The Bath Arms a historic city pub. After lunch we walked the famous Brighton Pier.
On our return journey we made a quick stop at Beachy Head which offers a spectacular view of chalk cliffs, similar to those seen at the White Cliffs of Dover. As you stand on the cliff's edge you are praying that you don't trip. It's a drop of several hundred feet, and a little too cold to go for a swim in the English Channel.
We had dinner at a local Italian restaurant in Hailsham named Prezzo. It was a wonderful evening and sad at the same time. I always find it so hard to say goodbye as we're never quite sure when we will see each our next. David and Sheila are trying their best to visit us in 2013. They are truly great friends and always bend over backwards to make our visit special. We want to thank them from the bottom of our hearts for their warmth and hospitality which always goes above and beyond.
5am wake up call tomorrow, as our flight leaves from Gatwick to Madrid at 8:30am.
