So the next day we got another pick-up down to the capital of Honduras, Tegucigalpa. Conor stayed here 6 years ago and we managed to get in touch with them and we had some great times. The family are really beautiful people and the children all speak very good English as they are all in American school. Tegucigalpa as a capital is pretty nice, worlds away from the slum that is Guatemala City. The people are friendly, the beer is very cheap (25p) and once again the staple diet is Baleadas. We had some great nights with the family..meal, bowling and we headed up to one of the daughters friends houses on the outskirts of the city for lunch..well I say a house, rather and absolute mansion of a place. They are Italain envoys from the EU helping projects between Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador. Tegucigalpa was good fun and I headed then up to La Ceiba on the Caribbean Coast via San Pedro Sula. I left Conor in SPS to meet one of the daughters of the family he stayed with who had moved from the capital and for us to get reaquainted later in La Ceiba.
