Don't get your knickers in a twist - it's ok, I agree. It's a terrible film. Thats the reason I was drawn into watching it - it managed to do in one sweet single hit, damage to the careers of excellent action filmers such as Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li, Jason Statham and Stallone on a par with the damage done to Arnie filming 'Twins' and 'Kindergarten Cop'. A true stinker of a film. Well done Stallone on looking like a old plastic toy throughout the film also.
On waking I look over at the alarm clock set by Kate last night
A little tired, I start putting my bits and pieces into my bag and plug in the laptop to get some more juuice in it - every little helps. I grab the key and then we head out the door to the promise of food. Kate stops, turns grey and then says "It's not 5 to 9, it's 5 to 10".
"It's 5 to bloody 10"
"Then the bus leaves in 15 minutes"
"How did that happen?" (Kate)
I look at my watch and it's the right time. Realisation dawns.
"You set the bloody alarm but you didn't change the time!" I say as I run back into the room and start wrapping things up in lightning time.
"We're a little in a rush, sorry" I say remarking on the fact we now have 7 minutes till our bus which has always without fail arrived early at it's destination.
"Thats ok, you're only just past 10 - not a problem" the desk lady remarks on the basis that we should have checked out at 10am.
"Well thats not what I meant, but anyways..." I say grabbing my small deposit for the crappy film watched last night and exiting stage left onto the street.
I dart for the bus, storming off 20 paces ahead of Kate. I round the final corner to the bus stop, mere seconds off 10.10 and our bus departure time and I slow down to a ponder. Breathing heavily, I dump the bags down next to the seat of the bus stop. Kate arrives and plonks her stuff next to mine.
At the bus stop, 6 other people are waiting. We have made it in time - the bus hasn't been yet. Thank god.
3 and a quarter hours later and the bus pulls in to pick us up
The delay was nobodys fault. It just added to my contempt of the bus service. Trains seem to be the way forward.
Sydney is 18 degrees and sunny. For us, it feels like walking into mid-winter. We need some warmer clothes before hitting New Zealand just a couple of weeks down the line, and certainly before hitting the states in early December.
