Today we woke up late again. Both of us have a sore throat and a cough (don't worry we checked, not a symptom of malaria). We headed off to a restaurant recommended by our friend Matt that has a sign saying it has the "chea pest food". The food was super cheap an also delicious. Some of the best Laos breakfast we have had.

We then walked around an found a cooking school and signed up for a class tomorrow ( you can all get ready for some super good food cooked by us when we get home!) Then we bargained with a sâwngthâew to take us to Tat Saew waterfall, a small waterfall near by that we learned from someone trying to sell us trekking that you can pay to wash, feed and ride elephants there.

We had to wait a little while for four French guys who were going to share the sâwngthâew with us, so we got off at around 12:30. It was a half hour drive there and then a boat ride to the waterfalls. As soon as we got there we saw the elephants chained up waiting for riders. Both of us felt pretty bad and didn't want to ride them, so we decided we would feed them later.

We went up into the falls, which were great but would be absolutely amazing during wet season, and walked around the different tiers. We went swimming for a bit in some of the deeper pools and sat in the less steep falls. After a bit of swimming we decided we were hungry and grabbed some beers and fried nuts, along with our favorite- a big bowl of sticky rice.

After eating we headed down and grabbed some bananas and sugar cane and fed two of the elephants. It's amazing how smart they are, and all of the different maneuvers they can pull with their trunk to get food. We really enjoyed our selves. Then we watch their mahouts take them for their evening baths in one of the waterfall pools before taking them into the jungle. We then met up with our possy and grabbed a boat and sâwngthâew back to Luang Prabang.

We grabbed dinner at a Indian restaurant which unfortunately was run by Laos people and so the food was only mediocre, however the people were so friendly and had the cutest kids that loved to come over and sabadii ( hello). Too adorable. So all in all a very enjoyable dinner. Then we walked through the night market bought some new watches (a treat to ourselves) and grabbed a beer at a pub on the main drag. We also ran into our Ukrainian friend we met in Hauy Xai which was nice- small world.

Then we headed back to our room to get some sleep. Tori's cold is getting worse :(
