5th August - Trip to the South Island
There are 2 options to get you to the South Island of New Zealand, by a nice 45 minute flight over or a 3 hour ferry journey over some of the roughest part of sea in the world, which option did we choose, the ferry of course. After hearing that the ferry journey can be very rough and may end up being more like 6 hours long I hoped that we could take the flight instead but as it was Daniel's birthday and I was letting him make the decisicions we went on the ferry. This actually turned out to be a great decision. The sights of the Marlborough Sound which is where you enter the South Island were really fantasic making it a memorable experience.
When we arrived on the South Island we were picked up by the magic bus to take us to our stop for the next 3 nights, Nelson. ---DEUTSCH--- 5ter August - Faehre auf die Sued Insel Es gibt 2 Moeglichkeiten auf die Sued Insel zu kommen, mit dem Flugzeug oder mit der Faehre. Der Flug dauert 25 Minuten und die Faehre 3 Stunden ueber eines der schlimmsten Wasser der Welt (im Winter). Der Preis ist der selbe und so fiel es mir sehr schwer Martha zu ueberreden auf die Faehre zu gehen, aber ich schaffte es. Und es war eine super Entscheidung wir hatten gutes Wetter und das Meer war ausserordentlich ruhig. Die Aussicht war wunderschoen und erinnerte an Skandinavische Fjorde.
Am andren Ende wartete bereits der Bus um uns nach Nelson zu bringen. More thumbnails ...
