Nach einer kurzen Fahrt am Vormittag erreichten wir Cairns, das Ziel und letzte Station mit dem Auto in Australien. Obwohl es pausenlos regnete und unser Zelt ueberflutet wurde hatten wir eine Ok Zeit in Cairns. Wir regelten viele ueberfaellige Sachen und ruesteten uns fuer den Auto Verkauf.
In Cairns mussten wir dann jedoch auch leider feststellen dass wir nicht genug Geld haben wuerden um nach Ayers Rock zu reisen ohne schlimme Konsequenzen auf unser Neu Seeland Budget und so trafen wir die Entscheidung nicht dorthin zu gehen. Naja nachdem wir hier soviele neue Freunde in Australien haben, muessen wir auch was uebriglassen um wieder auf einen Urlaub hierher zu kommen.
26th June to 29th June - First trip to Cairns
Drive, not a long way, to Cairns and settle in our campsite for the next few days. It was raining a fair bit now so we were a bit dissappointed not to have our tropical paradise but we got but doing some souvenir shopping and catching up with things. Although the rain did manage to flood our tent which wasn't much fun, but we laughed it off as we sat in the car listening to Travis 'Why does it always rain on me?'
We also had to make the decision at this point that we were not going to be able to see Uluru (Ayers Rock). We were both very disappointed but our funds just weren't going to cover it as well as our plans for New Zealand. The positive side to this decision is that we now have to come back to Australia one day!
