ENGLISH AT THE BOTTOM
Da Neujahr nah war dachten wir uns wir nehmens leicht und anstatt der langen Reise in den Sueden entschieden wir uns fuer ein Strandort naeher an Bangkok. Das Ganze klang gar nicht schlecht in unserem Thailand Buch und so fuhren wir nach Hua Hin. Die groesste Fehlentscheidung unseres Asien Urlaubs! Wir hassten es, jede Minute davon.
Das ganze war wie die Costa-Brava plus hunderte ekliger Sextouristen. Dort versammelt sich wirklich der Abschaum von Europa um die Armut von Thai Frauen auszunutzen. Wenn es normale Maenner waeren waers nicht so schlimm, aber wenn man sieht wie sie die Maedchen behandeln, wie sie sie anscheissen und welche furchtbaren Namen sie ihnen geben dann wird einem schlecht und man muss sich schaemen Europaeer zu sein. Unser Plan war schnellstens weg von hier, das Ganze erwies sich jedoch als gar nicht so einfach.
Wir reservierten ein Bett in einer Jugendherberge und wollten am naechsten Tag den Bus nehmen.

As it was getting near to New Years eve we decided to take it a bit easy a not have a huge journey down to say Ko Samui in Thailand but to try and go somewhere a bit closer where we could have a bit of sun, sea and sleep! We had read in our books as we have been doing about Hua Hin, a place 3 hours from Bangkok with a beach and it didn't sound too bad so we thought we would give it a try. Sorry if anyone has been or going and does/did like it but we hated it.
We checked into the hotel, which was fine and thought we would take a walk on the beach and check it out. It just wasn't for us, to put it nicely there was a lot of dodgy men with Thai women, lots of package tourists burning away and not that nice a beach. We might sound a bit snobbish but it just wasn't what we hoped for, it may be great for someone else but for us we really wanted to try and get somewhere else.
This then became our mission...'Escape from Hua Hin'
After checking out the bus station and finding a hostel in Phuket we planned to head there the next day.
