Our arrival found us with our first challenge... all the campsites were closed! We found a cosy looking car park and made this home for the night.
Refreshed and ready for action, we head off to take in the beautiful views just waiting for us to discover them. Walking through the bush we soon stumble on to a track that takes us winding around the cliff face!! When the trees parted the views that appeared were spectacular...the fauna amazing and the shear death defiying drops inches away with nothing to stop you falling, apart from the odd random unstable branch.......terrifying! All a good recipe for an exhilarating walk that was by no means a stroll. we finally reach our destination and take in the view off the three sisters...mountain formations that stand in three columns at the edge of the cliff face.
Along with the mountains we experienced the Jengolan caves. Sandstone caves that were carved out by water passing through them. Many features were created over hundreds of thousands of years from water droplets passing through the rock, totally unbelievable. What was more unbelievable was that Pat went in the caves and battled against his fear of enclosed spaces! This is something that he couldn't do in Vietnam! As a result he really enjoyed the freakish creations that the rock had to offer.
