STAGE 1 - Norton Disney to Rotherham

Phase 1 - Norton Disney to Rotherham.
Before we start with this - if you seen any words in our blog underlined (in orange I think) then these have a link to photos. So for example, in this blog, if you move your mouse to 'car boot sales' you will see this is also a link to some a nice photo of us car booting. I just wanted to clear this up so you don't miss nice photos of us. Enjoy the blog
OK so this leg is not on our official round the world path but this phase marks a big step in our plans. On the weekend of the 28th April we finally moved out of Norton Disney - even though we haven't even exchanged yet but that is another story that involves solicitors and that immediately gets my blood pressure up......deep breaths...1......2.....3.....4.....
So here we are in Rotherham and I have to say it is great to be back. It has been a few years since I last lived at home and everything is going great (or at least I think it is - mum, dad if you are reading this please feel free to comment). Since moving back we have bumped into a few old friends and it's always nice to see familiar faces.
Even though we haven't sold the house yet I still handed my notice in at work and my last day is 25th May. This means we should be leaving around 30th May I would hope. Plan is to fly to Italy and then move on through Germany into Finland and then into Russia. These are the plans right now but as some of you know me these will probably change. However as its only 3 weeks till we go it is probably a good idea to make some firm decisions.
In the build up to the move we sold most of our possessions at car boot sales, on ebay and garage sales. I have also been having snowboarding lessons in case we go anywhere where it is snowing and finally I have grown my hair so I fit in with any other long haired travellers we may encounter on the way.
There are still a number of things we need to do before we head off and we are slowly working our way through them.
Leaving do is on the 19th May which we are so looking forward to and then it is time to get prepared!! I cannot believe it is finally happening.
I promise the next entry will have a bigger move than just Norton Disney to Rotherham, Honestly I haven't set this up so you can monitor my movements to work and back. Tomorrow ROTHERHAM TO LEEDS!! See how I faired when I openly laughed at the locals and the state of their football team.

Can't believe I will miss the leaving do! Jim will have to lead the trouser leg pulled up action with you Pat.
Will leave you lot to organise where we will meet up with you during your trip if you can bear it...:-)
