Joanne's house is very nice
. Her husband Lenny is in the British Army, so they live in a family village right outside the Army base, which is in the middle of nowhere (I think the nearest city is Winchester? I don't remember). Her house is a nice size though with three bedrooms and 1.5 bathrooms. The first night we were there, Joanne had arranged a Poker night with three of Lenny's friends. It was £5 to play, therefore, I didn't play. I helped Deanna since she had never played poker before. So it was Lenny's three friends, Lenny, Joanne, Steven, Eric, and Deanna playing. The game went on for hours and hours. The only reason Steven went to Joanne's is because he thought he would win at Poker. Usually, Steven always wins. Well, he was the first one out. HA! Everyone was happy about that. Eric, Deanna, and one of Lenny's friends were the last three playing. Keep in mind, the only people who had played poker before that night were Eric, Steven and I. It was Eric against two beginners. Deanna ended up winning and Lenny's friend came in second. Deanna won £30 and the guy won £10.
The next day, Joanne and I woke up early to take Summer (her daughter) to music group. I really enjoyed that. We sang and danced and played instruments for the half hour we were there. While we were walking back to Joanne's place, Summer fell asleep in the stroller. But she was sitting up. It was SOOO cute! She looked like a bobble head
. lol. After getting back to her place, Deanna and Steven left to come home. Eric, Joanne, Summer and I all went for a walk. Our walk took us past fields of horses. We had bought carrots before our walk to give to the horses. At first, Summer was scared of the horses, but eventually, we had her giggling and petting one. That night, Lenny and Joanne left to go to Tesco (The UK version of Costco or Sams). Eric and I were left to babysit Summer. We gave her a bath and got her all ready for bed. Bath time was fun, because Summer loves water. Everytime we'd splash water in her face, she'd look surprised and then giggle.
On Saturday, we woke up early and headed off to Stonehenge!! That was amazing to see. It's incredible how it's been there for over 3500 years. After Stonehenge, we drove to Lenny's parent's house where we had a bbq and watched the England vs Portugal game. England lost and are now out of the World Cup. :-( That was sad. Then we started the drive back here. On the way, we passed part of the University of London, which was breathtaking, and we passed by Windsor Castle, which I only saw part of a steeple of. The car ride took about 1.5 hours.
Tomorrow, we're off to Amsterdam!
Thursday, we went to visit my cousin Joanne. Eric, my cousin Steven and I all got on the train around 9:30 in the morning to go to Harlow, the nearest big town. It's only a 10 minute train ride. We met up with Joanne's best friend, Deanna, at the train station in Harlow. Deanna then drove us the rest of the way to Joanne's. It took us about 2 hours to get there because of traffic and getting lost. Eric and I were in the backseat sweating buckets. It was SOOOOO hot outside and Deanna didn't have the AC on. She would turn it on enough to cool down the car, then turn it off until it was like a sauna in the car again. When we were stopped in traffic, she'd open the window, but as soon as traffic picked up again, she'd shut the window. Eric and I were so happy when we got to Joanne's becaues we could breath. The back of our shirts were dripping with sweat though. Ick!
