I arrived in Honduras to the first real bit of rain that I´ve experienced on this trip. Luckily, it held out until I could roam the Copan Ruins, complete with intricate carvings that somehow have survived the elements all these years. At night, I had a lovely meal with Karen, and woman from England, who I met at the ruins. We shared a guide who seemed often to be making things up when we asked questions, and who would stop periodically to ask bizarre questions, such as, "Which do you like best, morning or afternoon."

I spent the next day in the town of Copan Ruinas hiding out from the rain in the archaeology museum off the central plaza, and visiting a butterfly and orchid house. The photos of tropical plants and butterflies are for my mom. The plants are beautiful here, mama!

Feliz Navidad!
Hi Jenn!
I am sitting here with James at our house. We are all fat and full of turkey! We are checking out your blog.
I just made him go upstairs. I get nervous when people watch me type!
I am sure that you heard that we are having a white Christmas. Pretty cool! At least the temperature has risen. It was so frickin' cold here last week.
I know that James misses you! Poor guy! I was hoping that he wasn't going to spend Christmas alone so I am glad that he came over tonight. He met my dysfunctional family. My Mom came over in some weird and embarrassing santa headband. The santa's were on these springs attached to the headband. I am not kidding! My 85 year old grandma let one rip and James said he didn't hear her fart. She farts pretty much all the time now. I think he probably heard it but was just trying to be nice.
We will keep an eye out for James. Hopefully he will feel comfortable to come over when ever he wants.
I hope that you are having the experience that you wanted. Your pictures are great. I especially loved those natural pools.....ah, I wish I was there now.
Take care Jenn!!
Your neighbor,
Melia

don't feel bad for james
i've seen him at the Acropolis for the last 4 weeks. He eats the $4 steaks and then gives empties his wallet to this naked hairy russian.
