I opened my eyes to new surroundings in Houston. The Lake View RV resort was by far the fanciest RV Park we had seen yet. With incredible views of the man made lake, complete with fountains that were quite mesmerising to watch. We all got up and powered to the in-house gym where we sweated it out for an hour. It’s hard to not notice yourself gaining weight when on holiday so it’s great to be able to work hard in the mornings and indulge a bit during the day. We hit the road about lunchtime headed for New Orleans, a 5-hour drive that ended up being 6 and a half with traffic.

We stopped along the way at Taco Bell, delicious but cheap, awesome! We arrived in NO about 7pm, we were greeted with quite a scary looking RV park, if you could call it that. We locked and double locked everything and headed into town. We waited at the bus stop for about 10 minutes before we realised we were in quite a dodgy part of town so we caught the first taxi we found and powered into the French quarter. Even though it was dark, it was plain to see that Nawlins is absolutely beautiful. We went to a place AH knew quite well and I tried the classic Gumbo and Jambalaya. It was an interesting taste that I could easily say was nice to eat, but I probably wouldn’t order it again. We then found a nice bar with great dixie music being played by all the old cats, then when that finished we headed to the spotted cat and there was a killer 6 piece trad band with all young guys killing it. We hung around for a while and then headed home to sleep. Thankfully our RV was in one piece when we returned.
