This morning I caught the bus to Ramsey, to watch the racing. The double decker went along a scenic drive, with some great views out over the coast, and through Laxey; home of the worlds largest functioning water wheel.

In Ramsey I made my way to Parliament Square...who's name was a tad confusing as I didn't see anything resembling parliament or a square...
The corner I watched the supersport race from was a tight right hander into a more open left as they built up speed. I saw one near collision between two of the bikes midway through the right hander, in an overtaking manoeuvre gone bad, and another rider nearly came off after hitting the curb on the fast exit of the left hander. Unfortunately, a Kiwi rider, Bruce Anstey, who was leading the race by a decent margin, bowed out with mechanical problems around two thirds of the way through the final lap Looking at grandstand from track

After that race I walked to the Ramsey Sprints, some single pass 1/8th mile drags along the promenade. There was a few interesting bikes, including a couple of turbocharged Hayabusas, one of the electric TTXP bikes and a dedicated drag bike.

That afternoon the Red Arrows aerobatic team were performing over Ramsey, and they were quite a sight! The nine planes did some formation flying then some stunts (for want of a better term...but that's really what they are) in smaller groups. It's hard to desribe what it's like seeing them, but it was certainly very impressive!

In the evening Chris and I went down to the Braddan Bridge grandstand and got some good shots of the riders leaning right over through the corners.
