For our first full day in Los Angeles, we walked to Hermosa Beach, and had a wander around the shops, a brief walk along the beach and out onto the pier. It's a really nice place, though today was a bit overcast, and according to the locals it was cold, but for us hardy New Zealanders it was T shirt and shorts weather.
Went to a Restaurant called LA Food Show in the evening, and had a decent sized burger and fries etc...which they do really well over here. It was here that I rediscovered how awesome ranch sauce is...I have had it back home, but I didn't realise it was so good - in fact, I would say that Aioli has a new contender. Yes, it's that good.

For our second day in LA, we went to Six Flags Magic Mountain, which is a huge themepark (apparently one of the best anywhere). While it was a Sunday, it was actually fairly empty (I was expecting it to be packed seeing as it was a weekend). Quite a few of the rides had virtually no queue at all which was pretty cool. I did as many of the rides as possible in the time available, and they were all awesome - needless to say they were a million times better than what Rainbows End has to offer back home!

While there we had some Funnel Cakes as suggested by Glynis, and they were sooo good! They didn't have any apple ones for sale, but chocolate and strawberry did a pretty good job of filling in I think. For anyone that doesn't know what a funnel cake is, the best way I can think of describing them is that they are sort of like a sweet batter crossed with mini donut dough, poured out into lots of little bits, but in the shape/size of a pancake, deep fried I think (really healthy!) and covered in flavoured sauce and icing sugar. They were really good...in fact, they were so good they deserve their own paragraph! Thanks for the tip Glynis!

In the evening we packed up and got ready for an early flight to Las Vegas the next morning.
