Delhi was getting quite overwhelming. I just cannot describe it. In our bus out of the city, it seemed to take forever to get to anything that looked rural. But we did.
Jaipur is much cleaner although there is no shortage of absoloute have-nothing-at-all, live-on-the-streets poverty. Maria and I struggle together on how to handle all the requests for hand-outs. So sad, but if we gave a quarter to each one it would create havoc and make us broke. She tried handing out some food to some kids and a bit of a scuffle and hurt feelings developed. She fixed it though by buying bananas for a few kids. Maria has such a good heart.....I am so proud of her.
The food is great. As good as, or better than, Jaipur Junction in North Royalton :).
Me, well, I am acclimatizing. I am adjusting to different time zone, different climate, different food, different daily pace. The temperature is pulling me down. It is just continually upper 80's and dry. No worry though, my plan is to get this time zone adjustment nailed and sleep thru the night tonight (drug therapy :) ). With good rest I will be full strength.
We travel to Jodhpur tomorrow by train......my first India train experience! If it as wild as busses then it should be a ride.
Miss you all, Mark
