So little time...
Entry 19 of 31 | show all | print this entry |
So out of the 33 countries I´ve been to so far, this place probably has THE MOST beautiful women I have ever seen. Better than Spain, Croatia, Slovenia, USA, England, you name it. All the women here take care of themselves like it´s their job. They all wear tight jeans and bikini. It´s as if they take classes on runway walking in primary school. My god, as my new friends here and I walk down the beach, we can´t help but stare. Even the 12 year olds dress this way, with their belly buttons exposed and showing off the new bottoms they just grew into. I really dont know how to describe the level of beauty here in Colombia. The men are taller here but most are out of shape so the competition is less for the Gringos. Since I still dont speak spanish that well, I am still unable to communicate pass smiles, hand gestures and common greeting. I´m a blind man at a nude beach. Very sad indeed.
The weather here in Santa Marta is at a constant 80 degrees with ocean winds blowing at all hours of the day. Sometimes, it get unbearable. I met a great deal of people yesterday at my new hotel. A greek, two finnish guys, an american, a dutchman, two colombians, a canadian girl, and a few others. Everyone here is very chill and relaxed which is a nice change from the stuckup backpackers of Venezuela. Maybe it´s the beach atomsphere, either way, I´m not complaining. The typical meal here is $1.70 here at the hotel and you get soup, fish, salad, plantain, and a drink. Unfortunately, that is about all they serve so far in Latin America. Beans, rice, chicken, carne, fish, salad, and a fruit drink. I dunno how they can take all this for so long.
The beaches here are nothing to brag about but at night, it really comes alive. I dunno what it is like in Rio, but I imagine it´s something along the same lines as here. Thousand and thousands of party goers and vacationers walk the main boardwalk at night till 3 in the morning. Craftmarkets, liqour stores, bars, and restaurants along the coast are filled at all hours. People sit ont he beach and drink rum. The sounds of the pan flute orchestras play to a crowd. Very close another band plays Samba and people form a circle and dance to the afrocarbbean (sp) beats. This is what a beach town should be like.
I ran across the coolest liqour store last night across from the hotel. There is a pisser in one corner of the store. This is place is about 20x10 big and well light. I am going to take a picture of it tonight.
I really dont know what I want to do. On one hand I want to go to the lost city, but on another I want to stay around here for another week just to take it all in. With only 27 days left, I am realy in a rush. I think I will have to fly from Cartegena to Quito. Who knows. Everyone here is travelling for atleast 4 months. Lucky bastards.
