Ach well... Following a slight miscalculation in time required to get from Noosa to Hervey Bay, we didn't quite make the planned 12pm ferry across to Fraser Island, but that gave us a chance to relax and enjoy a wee drive around Hervey and on to Urangan Harbour and beach.
It's another stunning we area with holiday homes, appartments and motels a-plenty as well as bars and restaurants to watch the world go by from.
We arrived at the harbour at about 1pm and started with a walk along the beach before stopping at one of the local hotel / restaurants for lunch. Delicious food and beers kept us going as we walked out along the jetty (not quiet as long as Bussleton but a fair walk all the same!) avoiding anglers young and old as we went.
Time flew and before we knew it, it was time to get the car into secure parking, check in our bags and queue up for the ferry crossing to The Kingfisher Bay Resort.
45 minutes of catamaran travel with a bracing wind throughout the cabins... Fingers crossed it's a bit warmer on this island... I forgot my thermals!
