Ah...

We got into Noosa Heads after a lovely leisurly drive up the coast. Having made great time, even with a wee pit stop at the Ettamogah Pub, we arrived at about 1pm to the most beautiful hotel I think I've ever stayed in.

The reception area was incredible and the staff were great (remember that we weren't even paying guests - God bless frequent flyer miles!), giving us all the info we needed for our stay, getting our car into secure parking and basically making us feel very welcome.

We settled into our room first of all, and then decided to head out and explore the area. Beautiful shops and cafes, with a couple of pubs and literally dozens of appartment blocks all doing a strady trade and although it wasn't exactly the warmest, a fair few folk out on the beach as well Ettamogah Pub

Noosa Heads beach is pretty damn stunning and we were treated to a sand sculpture demonstration as we neared the end of our wander. Words can't do justice to what this guy could do with water and sand but hopefully you'll get an idea from the photos!

After our brisk wander around the local sights, it was back to the hotel and time to dress for dinner. I really let myself down here with all my clothes either being work stuff (from the Brisbane business trip) or casual clothes (for holiday comfort because I'd been wearing business clothes all the previous week!) so I wasn't exactly Mr Smart, but Sophie coped with my scruffiness (as usual!)

We debated long and hard (in between drinks!) over where we should eat and in the end after passing all the lveoly looking restaurants we decided to partake in some food from the Sufl Lifesaving Club on the beach... View over the sea, ocean sounds and pretty good food too (beer wasn't bad either!)

I even managed to sneak a shot on the pokie (read: One Armed Bandit) while Sophie was distracted and won $75.00.. Ettamogah Pub - Me & The Prospect Of Beer...

. Enough to pay for dinner and more, so I was let off!

The night came ot and end all too quickly, and with it our time in Noosa. Definitely recommended to anyone who was visiting the East Coast, definitely worth staying at the Sheraton and definitely somewhere we plan to come back to!

The next morning was another early start - breakfast at one of the local cafes (fresh fruit, yoghurt and banana bread - ideal!) and then off on the drive up the coast to Hervey Bay and Fraser Island...

Now where did I put those directions?!?
