Ah - I'm just loving this travelling life...  Who couldn't enjoy long waits in airports, tiny cramped seating and plasticised meals served with stewed tea...  Am I overstating the 'joy?'

Hmmm...

Off again, via Ayers Rock Airport.  We were only there for about 1/2 an hour but I at least got a chance to see the rock as we disembarked the plane.  Even at that distance and for that short time, it was a really cool sight...  Sadly the plane didn't give us a good look at Uluru but I plan to hopefully be back when Mum and Dad come across in September and tour the area.

From Ayers Rock we arrived in Cairns in early evening (with bags - I think that'll always amaze me nowadays!) and were off to the hotel.. Oh no you didn't!!!
Oh no you didn't!!!
.   A really classy joint as I think the photographs will prove.

For some reason (maybe I'm cursed!) there was no room booking for me.  All that was left was a room in the front of the hotel, with all the noise of the street etc.  I was beyond caring by that point and just wanted a clean bed and a shower sorted out before we went out and grabbed dinner.  P.J.O'Briens was chosen, a run of the mill Irish Pub with run of the mill Irish food (kinda) - at least the Guinness was passable, something you can't often say down here in Oz!

Our timing once again let us down - if we'd been to the pub on a Wednesday or Friday night we could have enjoyed either 'Cyote Ugly Bar Dancing' or Pole Dancing...  D'Oh!

Ah well, probably for the best, we needed our sleep before the presentation review the next morning and more flying time to PNG...

Zzzz...

Morning came, and with it some FABULOUS news!  Our Cairns hotel reception... Classy!

Qantas had received my missing bag and delivered it to the office...  So, so happy to have my things back and decided that BA were definitely going to get a stroppy letter from me in the very near future while Qantas would be getting a letter of thanks...  Well, can't be nasty to everyone! :o)
