Well, that's almost the end of another trip across to Brisbane. It's been a week of too much work and not surprisingly too much socialising...

The week started successfully enough arriving on time in Brisbane, retrieving my bag and getting the hire car back to the hotel. Once I'd settled into my room in the Sebel Suites on Charlotte Street I decided that a breath of fresh air would be the ideal thing. So off I headed at 9pm round the city and the Botanical Gardens...

The wildlife in the gardens at that time of nite was amazing, with possums everywhere, huge bats flying between the trees and (I can talk about it now I've recovered from the shock!) a 2 metre long python who'd decided to cross the cycle path as I walked by. The first ever snake I've seen in the wild in Australia and it had to be a big 'un Bamboo Thicket...

After I'd recovered for the 'surprise' and taken a few steps back, I managed to take out my camera and get a few photo's of the beast before letting him (her?) head off one way and I headed cautiously the other! Who knew what else the evening might hold for me!

A wander over to the South Bank and through the beautiful water gardens there was much more relaxing, no snakes there although there were a few groups of suspicious liiking blokes... Luckily having survived the snake I was feeling no fear and kept on walking and enjoying the sights.

Two full days of business on Monday and Tuesday were definitely tiring but well worth it with potential sales from a couple of the companies and definite interest from the others... Now just to push over the next few months for some big bucks... Heh, heh, heh...

The evenings would have been more fun if I hadn't had to work on the meeting wrap-ups until the wee small hours of the morning - definintely not the best on the build up to a 4am start on Anzac Day!

After the Anzac Day experience, fun and entertainment of the afternoon pub antics and the trip up North to the mine site it was back in Brisbane for a couple of meetings and then a couple of hours off to wander around the city again. The river walk is simply stunning and although I took loads of photographs of the views, walk and arty structures around the banks of the river they really don't do justice (sadly like most of my photographs!)

A wee trip to the casino had to be done as well and quite a successful one at that - enough to enjoy a few drinks and a nice meal! :o)

The time certainly flew by, and while it's been hard work at times, I've also had a great time back here in Brisvegas - now just about time to get myself sorted out for the drive up North to Graham and Caet's Wedding - sure I'll be fine, just let me get out my map...

Heh, heh, heh...
