After a very hectic week of work (well ok there was a wee bit of drinking in there as well!) I headed up the coast from Brisbane to Coolum Bay.

It's about 1-1/2 hrs North of the city and is a really nice wee place. Think I probably didn't see the best of it as the clouds had moved in and weren't keen on moving but still a cool little town and stunning beaches.

I moved myself into the Coolum Motel - not really more than a glorified bacpackers but compared to the other hotels in town it was cheap and cheerful! :o)

After getting my bearings and some lunch it was time to head to the wedding ceremony... Down on the beach - where else would it be in Australia?!?

A really nice ceremony with some of Graham and Caet's family and friends was held on the beach, with refreshments served while, after Wedding, photographs were taken Coolum Bay Motel...

. We then moved up to a house called 'Angkasa.' It's a simply amazing rental property up on the hill above the beaches with amazing rooms and a balcony - ideal for the after Wedding drinks and nibbles as well as the prerequisite speeches and dancing...

Was a really great day and evening, and so great to see Graham, Caet, Ian and Emma, as well as their families and friends... Too many names to mention (or remember for my old brain!) but good to meet / see them all!

Things wrapped up about 11.30pm and we all headed back to our hotels.

The next morning I headed to Caloundra to catch up with Mikie's Mum and Dad. They moved out to Australia years ago initially, and have been in this seaside town for the last couple of years. It was really ncie to catch up with them and share stories (as well as a lovely lunch!). Time flew while I was there and it was flight departure time before I knew it. Drove back to the airport in Brisbane, got rid of the hire car and boarded the long flight back to Perth.

5-1/2 hrs later and shattered we were further delayed with 30 minutes on the tarmac waiting for a plane to clear or 'parking spot...' Didn't they know we were arriving?!? Then a further 30 minutes waiting for luggage was compounded by a 75 minutes wait for a taxi.. Coolum Bay... 1

. Not the best at 12.30am, especially for someone as tired and grumpy as me! :o(

Still I survived (more importantly the airport staff survived!) and made it back home to my lovely new house! Luckily it was still standing and un-burgled so I quickly unpacked enough stuff to get me settled back in and then it was time for sleep before another week at work!
