A nice easy start to the trip with a mid-day flight over to Brisbane. A bit of confusion over the meals resulted in my getting special treatment with extra red wine - needless to say after that I quite happily passed out and only woke up as the plane came in to land... Excellent way to travel!
Brisbane turned out to be a bit cooler than Perth, but still in the low 20's - not bad for Winter, eh?
My hotel was simply stunning, the Sebel Suites on Charlotte Street in the city centre. Complete with lounge, diningroom, kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and balcony for myself and a few levels below my room the hotel gym, pool and sauna... Not a bad life having to work for a living I guess! Heh, heh, heh...
Although I was obviously here for work (well, a little at least along the way...) I'd managed to organise a pretty full social week, with nights out with a few of the folk I met on my travels.
Monday night I was off to Mick O'Malley's on Queens Street Mall to meet Kim and her brother Dan. I had stayed with Kim in Byron Bay during my travels last year and as luck would have it she was up visiting Brisbane and would be able to catch up for a few beers.

Tuesday night say my boss Allan and myself heading out for a meal and beers, but he decided to have an early night, leaving me to wander the streets of Brisbane alone... Funky tree...

Amazingly enough I coped admirably, and enjoyed a tour around a few of the local pubs (Irish Murphy's, The Victory, The Exchange (Brisbane's home of rugby I was told!), Union Jacks (British pub trying too hard!) and finally Gilhoolies... I decided to call it quits after that - busy day at the office to follow...
Wednesday night I was able to catch up with Graham Young. Beers and a catch up were enjoyed at the Ambassador bar and plans set for a longer catch up with him, Caet, Jack, Shorty and Emma on my next visit.

Thursday night saw me meeting up with Patrice, who had the joy of putting me up while I stayed in Brisbane during my travels last year. A fabulous indian meal with drinks in 'The Valley' suburb of Brisbane and my trip was all but over...
Friday flight home I once again managed to get myself off to sleep after my meal and wine and before I knew it we were almost in Perth and ready for another weekend... Ach, it's a hard life!
