It is around 2 pm on Thursday, June 23rd (I think I'm writing the day/date for my benefit - to remember what day it is:), and Doc is resting comfortably in front of the T.V. back at our hotel, snoozing on and off.
The day started with a wake-up call at 5:40 a.m. We then enjoyed the "Canadian Community" that's continues to be created - in the lobby of the hotel, and in the waiting room at the Clinic. I'm still overwhelmed at the number of Canadians here (which translates into a staggering amount of $ being sent south as this SIMPLE procedure is unavailable in Canada) and enjoying the connection this provides.
At the clinic this morning, we provided support to each other as one by one, each spouse/sibling/child or friend left their family/friends in the waiting room to leave for the procedure. I had a 4+ hour wait at the Clinic and once they let me know Doc was moved to the recovery room I slipped back to the hotel to take a shower, and returned an hour later to accompany him back to the Hotel. We are here now.
This is a very different process than in Bulgaria. So very different that I will leave Doc to fill you all in with details. I expect that will be later this afternoon or evening.
However, just wanted to let all know that he is out of surgery, somewhat dopey (more than usual:~) and resting very comfortably.
Hope the rain has stopped back home :~)
