It's way early here - like around 5 a.m. and we were out of the loop as the general routine of our 'community' has changed. All is well, and I think we are in a 'come-down' stage.
Regarding Doc (who's still sleeping), he's having some pain (expected, and experienced as part of the recovery) and he also had a swim yesterday, discovering some of the kinks of the treatment - he'll probably share more about his recovery - but he was sorer yesterday than previous. We did have a short outing yesterday afternoon - but it was after his workout, and Doc being Doc, he pushed pretty hard.
Combined with our party last night - and what an evening
Email addys were circulated for various reasons of future social contact and networking for medical pushing. At one point, Doc stood and made a toast for us all to reflect on. Another fellow made a toast to the Canadian Government - for bringing us all together in Europe. (At that moment I thought we were the only ones who weren't sponsored by government, then realized the irony in his toast:~).
Many, like us, are going into a three or four day slow-down now, in anticipation of returning to our respective provinces.
SO that's what's happened for us over the past 24 or so.
I'm also now working on a mini-project to post here. An incredible guy named Cory Ell (who is a teacher in Ottawa and a gifted musician, and my nephew :~) was inspired to write AND record a song and sent it to us!! Really, really incredible and I'm attempting to use IMovie to make a video for posting. He called the song "Before & After", and you can only imagine what this evoked for us.
As you folks approach your Saturday night, we will be starting our Sunday, so I plan to work on it and hopefully it will greet you on your Sunday morning...
Thanks for continued communication! Darryl - well spoken to the G & M. I wasn't so diplomatic - I wrote a response to the columnist that suggested she is in the wrong line of work. There are so many angles to this - and so many people can do so much without much effort to help propel this forward - I just can't figure out human nature around this...at the same time, I've never understood the fascination with reality TV - how we as a society are 'entertained' by humiliating, embarrassing and bringing to tears, people - - - as a form of entertainment.
Hoping more have some sort of awakening and become part of the solution - instead of complicating the problem.
So have a great evening all and here's hoping I can finish the video as a wake up gift to you all (tomorrow morning).
The picture attached is Doc at the close of the evening last nite - a woman snapped the moment of triumph (he was the last one of 34 to receive his supper - but so many different captions could be put underneath:~)
