Day 2 of the track - another 12km to do so had a lie in after moving back from the kitchen into my room.
Weather was still unusually good - no rain or wind! Stewart Island is famed for both....
More boardwalk followed - with many many steps. Most of the day was spent in the bush - I prefer walks like the QCT as I love the sea views.
Hut reached after 4 hours walking again, this time full of a hunting party who were a good laugh. They had all the essentials - rifles and fishing gear plus 10 cases of Speights :-). One hunter was gutted - he had finally found and shot the deer he had been tracking for days - or so he thought. Upon closer inspection, he found out that it was just a head tied to a tree by his mates!
Slept in the kitchen again due to snoring.
