Back from the desert and a shower to wash the sand out of everywhere! Still had sand in my ears days later. We set off for Nazca, location of the Nazca lines, a collection of lines and pictures in the ground visible only from the air. There is controversy surrounding who created them and why although it is thought they could date from 900BC to 600AD.

We signed up for the flight over the lines with Becky regretting that last glass of pisco cocktail last night! The plane seated 6 people including the pilot. It was amazing to see the lines from above and wonder about why they had been made - an English archeologist wonders if the creators had developed hot air balloons to help their creation. Take a look at the photos attached. The flight lasted 30 mins, about 10 mins too long for Becky!!!

We spent the afternoon recovering in hammocks and playing water polo in the campsite pool.
