Onto North Island

We had a luxury train journey followed by a very rough ferry crossing (7m waves had lots of passengers feeling pretty queasy) to north island and into Wellington. The first couple of days there certainly lived up to it's reputation as one of the windiest cities in the world. We decided it was far too windy to do too much sightseeing and spent most of our time in some of the many coffee shops on Cuba street. Wellington is a great city to relax in, although we're eating too many muffins.
Today the sun has come out again so we went for a walk up a dramatic viewpoint on Mt Victoria. It's quite a flying visit to the north island - we move onto Auckland via an overnight coach tonight and then fly onto Samoa just a couple of days later. We're both quite sad to leave New Zealand, but are really looking forward to a week of beach and sun in Samoa. After that we have just 2 days in LA then we're on our way home. It's hard to beleive that our trip is finally nearly over.
