Paradise on the Perhentian islands

After getting the diving bug in Ko Tao we were keen to do some more and excited about heading to Malaysia as we'd heard the water around the Perhentian islands was really clear. It was fairly easy to get there, just an overnight train from Thailand to another easy border crossing and a speed boat to the islands.
We got dropped off on the small island at Coral bay and were lucky to get anywhere to stay as the island was heaving. Our hut was very basic with a shared toliet that stank but at least it was cheap. The island was beautiful but somehow felt a bit like a greek resort - despite the fact that it was a dry island due to the muslim population.
The greatest part of our stay was a snorkelling tour around the islands where we swam with huge turtles, spotted sharks and got too close to sting rays. More thumbnails ...
