On the second day we stumbled across a 42ft catamaran and went out for the day, snorkeling, sailing and sunbathing. 3rd day was a tough one too, caught a boat to the other end of the island, Bocas del Drago, past bird island, which, you guessed it, was packed with birds! Picnic lunch on the idyllic beach, tried to climb a palm tree for some coconut milk but failed miserably, tried throwing rocks and other coconuts up but failed again
. Luckily, we had bought along a 6 pack, which sufficed! More snorkling and a quick stop at starfish beach, a breeding ground for 12" starfish. Back for another terrible dinner, had to send it back and got chicken and chips for $1. I think we just had really bad luck in the dinning department, the best place we could find was a little cafe with one set meal of chicken, rice, beans and hot sauce for $1.50. All the over-priced restaurants were very disappointing. Perhaps it is because i had got used to Emma's cooking at the campsites!
A short flight to the mainland and we left the Caribbean coast behind after 2 weeks... time for some more sightseeing and wildlifing....
Left CR and headed south to Panama. Only been on the Caribbena cost for 10 days and feel we're not quite ready to leave! So relaxed here, haven't done a great deal but we always seems to be busy! I managed to find a hotel with a sea view bar, a brand new place so not too many bugs (Emma's request). Sat at the bar and watched the sunset before venturing out for our first bad meal - I chose octopus and it was stewed in red wine... ate ½ and got over it at the wreck deck, a bar built around a sunken drug runner's boat, jutting out into the sea.
