Spent 3 days over Easter beside the largest lake in the region. Hoards of locals arrived by the truck load to camp and party in the streets and swim in the lake. Who can blame them, itīs 38 degrees and very humid!
We ventured downstream to the Caribean (mostly Garifuna) town of Livingston. Again heaps of people, but at least very few yanks. Great to see how they party but we beat a speedy retreat when i saw a huge black man, in fishnets and lipstick dancing like a pole dancer. 2pm on the beach - not exactly a family show!
Passed lots of avian wildlife on the hour journey either way and waded into the volcanic springs.
