We decided to head out to the Cayes for some gentle R and R. I suspected this would mean more Chinese food and doing very little.... on the whole I was right! Apart from heaps of yanks on spring breaks, the island was fabulous. There wasn't much to do apart from have breakfast, amble about, have lunch, a bit more ambling (optional) followed by a beer watching the dolphins and flying Eagle Rays in the sunset, then dinner.
This routine was broken by a kayaking trip to the next island. With a bit of a hangover, we set off late, knowing the sun would get us, but nevertheless we went!! We paddled for a couple of hours, well I trust that Emma was paddling but when I stopped, not much happened! We saw heaps of birds, including some rare ospreys, herons, cormorants, storks etc...
I decided to go for a swim and see what was on the sea bed, not a lot really but when I got back into the kayak, something had attached itself to my legs... it had got its teeth into me and bled. After removing them we paddled back again the wind and current and totally knackered. I kept hearing, I'm not well, you have to paddle! We were very relieved to enter the last bay and be insight of home and the bar for some well earned refreshment.
