Oh god! Will this rain ever stop? I know the Aussies are jumping up and down with joy that the place won't turn into a desert within 18 months but my tan is fading.
Anyway, Bellingen. It's about 40km from Coffs but the countryside looks like England in the Spring (except for the enormous jacarandas that dot the hills with their bright violet blossom). We're staying in a gorgeous little cottage on a farm about 20 mins out of town (20 mins due to the "roads" - so glad the car was upgraded and we're not taking a Getz up and down those tracks!) and the spot is idyllic. We're surround by cows and horses, mountains and forest (and flies but then you have to take the rough with smooth, eh? The mice and snakes aren't quite so welcome .. :P)
Will be taking full advantage of the car this week before heading towards the Hunter Valley via Waterfall Way and (twice) through the Great Dividing Range.
