OK So here´s the update for the day:

Last night, Patricio came and picked me up from my host home (HH??) at around 11:30 after a wonderful dinner with my host family and Tomas´ friend Tomas. The irony does not escape me.  My host mother says he was "muy caballero" and asked if he was my boyfriend.  Then she asked me if I had one and when the last time I had one was, and I wanted to crawl under a rock and die.

ANYWAYS hahaha we took the Colectivo to somewhere that I don't even know where it was because Patrick knows the city very well and I was just following. We were supposed to meet up with the chicas I met yesterday but no one showed, so we ended up heading to Plaza Serrano in Palermo (the neighborhood with lots of bars and clubs and stuff) and met up with their friend Julia and went to a bar called Prólogo. . they told me it's where they often start, and sometimes end, their nights.  That's the neighborhood they went out in every night like the first month.  We had a couple of rounds of Quilmes beer (très bien) and Ben joined us. It was fun to just sit there and catch up and reminisce a little about a lot (Spain, high school, Patrick's undying love for Eleonora while we were there lol)..

I got home at around 3:30, which is considered SUPER early for BsAs and woke up today at around 11:30, which I don't know if is a customary time to wake up.  I ate with María and we talked some politics and some business, so it was interesting.  I learned about her job -- she's in real estate, but has been working from home for the past few years.  She also used to have a bar with her ex-husband Marcel.  Afterwards, I decided to go out to the city and just walk around.  I walked around for about 3 hours, and made it all the way to Retiro and parts of Recoleta, which is a few subway stops away and is a more touristy and lujoso part of town.  The people there were dressed significantly nicer than I've seen people here dress... Top quality suits and all.  I went into some shops and looked at some shoes (I know, I know, but I can't help myself!).  I walked down a couple of Pedestrian Streets (Av. Florida, Av. Córdoba, etc.) and saw some awesome street performers -- a reggae group, tango dancers, and people that stand perfectly still with their coats "blowing" in the non-existant wind.

I stopped by a café (Il Gran Café I think) and had a submarino, which is very hot milk served with a chocolate bar that you SUBMERGE into the milk and make real hot chocolate.  It was "muy rico," which is what they say here to mean delicious.

I then walked to meet up with Roxanne, one of the girls I met yesterday, and we went to a movie theater in a HUGE and very Americanized mall to watch (FINALLY) the Sex and the City movie!! It was really long and emotional, but I loved it. I miss the series a ton!

Now I'm at a locutorio (Internet cafe) right across the street from my building because my phone has mysteriously stopped functioning and I don't know how to fix it.  Tonight is bar night with Roadies and hopefully they'll have a solution for me...

Til next time, Ciao!
