So I took a little detour through the Sam Houston Nation Forest, but couldn't enjoy the scenery for all the huge pickup trucks sitting on my butt. Gee, it's amazing how much power they have to pull horse trailers, but not enough balls to pass on the dotted line. I'm happy trucking along at the speed limit, and they're happy sitting on my ass. Let's just say I really enjoyed slowing waaaaay down until they finally had to pass, or stall out.

Wow, I was never so happy to check into a hotel! Once I'd pried my death-grip off the steering wheel (have you ever driven the Tollway in Houston on a Friday at 6pm?), I unloaded, washed up, put on my pjs, and crashed in front of the TV with some fruit and a Gatorade.* Woohoo, that's all I'm sayin'.

*A train whistle woke me up about 3am, and I realized I've heard lots of trains in Texas, especially in Daingerfield and Jefferson. It reminds me of growing up. We couldn't hear the train from our farm, but it ran right by our church. What a wonderful sound.
