On the way to Tyler, I stopped off to visit the Longview Museum of Fine Arts. Even though they were between exhibits, I was able to view the upcoming show of Robert Jessup. And even though all were leaning against the wall, and many were covered with a film of plastic, the work was colorful and visually powerful. I look forward to reading more about his background and viewpoint, and wish I'd been able to see the work hung. The museum's permanent collection was being rearranged but, even so, there was a nice variety to enjoy. I especially enjoyed the wood sculptures by John Hillier.
