Went for breakfast after which Chinese crackers were let off to celebrate their New Year - the year of the Snake. R talked to the man that let them off, who turned out to be the General Manager of the hotel and, after some general discussion, let him know we were not really happy about moving rooms. He apologised about it and offered free Thai massage and a seafood platter for us. Not sure what the latter is but we shall no doubt find out.
Spent the morning around our pool before calling in the removal men at 11.30 to transfer our luggage to the new room. Rather exposed to the employees working in and around the beach bar and restaurant but we should be able to cope eventually.
Afternoon on the beach watching a couple in a kayak from the hotel around the headland get into trouble by falling out of it and not being able to climb back in. Eventually another kayak arrived with employees from the hotel to help out but they had no life jackets and eventually that overturned as well. The girl from the original craft then jumped in the water and swam to the rocks and got out. The two kayaks righted themselves after a while and paddled back to the hotel with only one person in each.
After that another two came around from the same bay with a man and child in each, but with the men not wearing any life jackets even though the children had them on.
M went for a yoga sessions at 5 pm until 6.30. Table booked at the Anantara for Koh Sui, a dish we were recommended in Chiang Mai but see very seldom in the south. We shall see!
Lovely yoga session overlooking the sea, with Leah, German or Swiss and very pleased to be practicing again, even at western prices. My tummy not too good today but managed the class OK?
Walk along the beach to dinner at Anantara which is a super resort with proper restaurant . Enjoyed Khao Soi. must get the recipe.Surf m and wind up again, idyllic.
Walked back through town and now having adding own our new terrace. Received our vouchers for free massage and seafood. Well done Robin and Happy Chinese New Year everyone. Not many Chinese here so no fireworks .
