La Paz, a city without any charming but with character.
The arrival was impressive as we could see the whole city from "El Alto", the poor area located 400m above the centre.
As you can see on the first photos, the city has been built without any scheme, with small streets in order to use the space as much as it is possible. Even the centre, where the streets are bigger (but not enough for the amount of people on them), different kind of buildings are combined (high, small, classic, modern).
We really did not care about all these things as we were very glad of arriving at a city, where you can enjoy the cinema or a good restaurant.
On Sunday the 10th, there was a referendum to know if Evo Morales continued as president. Everything was closed and the streets were empty, it was weird to be able to see a car. It was very nice to have the city for ourselves after the chaos of the other days. At the end of the day, after knowing Evo was the winner, there was a "party" (not a lot of people were there, I would say around 200) in front of the Presidential Palace.
On these days, Clement climbed the Huayna Potosi, but I will leave this for him.
