There are numerous bus companies that run deluxe double decker buses to various cities around Peru. I don't remember which one Ronal and I took but it was a really easy trip. We sat in the semi-cama reclining seats upstairs for the 9 hour trip. We were served breakfast, lunch and drinks, and watched 4 movies. There was even a bingo game for passengers to win a bus ticket...fun! And the scenery was stunning!
Eventually we turned away from the coast a bit to continue through the arid and stark landscape. Every so often we would pass a crude hut that served as a base camp for families who would come and fish the coast. I don't think these are permanent home because they are among the crudest form of housing I have seen outside of cardboard boxes in poverty stricken barrios...but I don't know. The walls and roofs of these huts are made using 3x5 sheets of flattened reed woven in a somewhat tight lattice. It surely doesn't keep the rain off!
From time to time we would pass through
