I have known Lee and Craig for so many years...Lee and I were volunteers and board members of Colorado NARAL years ago, Craig taught me about computers when I was office manager for Leroux Creek Foods...more than 20 years ago! We three also had a wonderful trip to Mexico, staying with friend Lucia in Yelapa and then spending a couple of weeks in San Blas hiking and birdwatching and lounging on the beach...I visited them in Baja where they were staying in their RV...Lee & I made a trip to DC for the 20th anniversary of Roe v. Wade...and we have eaten innumerable fabulous meals together in restaurants and at their house. One of my favorites was a birthday party they held for me that was catered by Eleni (and attended by Patty & Willy, Kim & Chris and my ex Steve...) and included a murder mystery game where we had to figure out who the killer was. Craig's more than liberal pouring of various wines throughout the evening ensured that were were too sloshed to actually figure it out but we all had a great time!
Lee & Craig had moved to Virginia Beach and I decided to rent a car while I was in Charlotte and drive up there to visit them. Craig's health had been declining and I was grateful to have had this opportunity to see him and as it turns out it was the last time I would see him. Craig died a few months later and I'm glad I could add one more visit to the many happy memories I have of Craig.
While I was in Virginia Beach, I saw that candidate Obama was coming to town to speak. What a coincidence after having seen Michelle Obama speak in Colorado! I had already voted, but I decided to go and hear what he had to say.
