The FEZ bus was packed the day we boarded. It was a 25 seat bus with little leg room. Firt stop was Anzac cove. The place was amazing to see in real life, it really is just like the pictures in all the history books. We visited Lone Pine, the Nek, the turkish memorial and Chanak Bair (NZ memorial) and Johnstons Jolly. It was a very long day in the hot sun and we both had a tummy bug!

The next day on tour was Troy, pergama and a very long drive south down the west coast.

We didn't realise the significance of troy ( 9 cities built on top of each other over centuries) Only 10% of try has been excavated. And we did get to climb into a remake of the horse....

after this was Pergama, another ruin that we didn't know anything about, both the greeks and romans had occupied it at some stage. We learnt this in the building methods, large blocks for the greeks and small rocks with mortor and marbel lining for the Romains.

After this we drove for 4 hours down to a place called Kusadasi on the coast. It was a harbour port for big liners. And each day there were new huge liners in the port. WE stayed here for 4 days.

During the time here we took a day trip to Pammakule ( Calicium Terraces) 3 hourd inland on a bus full of Romains. We had a busy day, first  we stopped at a 5 star resort for lunch and a mud thermal bath and then we drove onto the terraces.

They were amazing, white and huge. The water in the terraces were sky blue.

The day we left Kusadasi we visited Ephesus for the morning. One of the best remaining perserved ruins in the world. And it was packed with tourists.

SORRY PHOTOS TO COME< they are on a DVD!
