Today was an "old west" day.  After leaving the Yellowstone NP area, we headed NE towards Cody, Wyoming.  It is a small town named after Buffalo Bill Cody!  We spent about 3 hours visiting the Buffalo Bill Historical Center,  a great museum exhibiting subjects on the history of Yellowstone, the people of the early west, firearms, and Buffalo Bill, himself.  The firearms exhibit was a collection of almost 3000 firearms and their history.

From Cody, we traveled still further NE to Billings, Montana.  Billings is the largest city in Montana with a population of only about 100,000 people.  After arriving and getting set in our room, we were to be treated to an old fashioned chuck wagon cookout.  On the way there, a small band of masked horsemen "held up" the bus.  One of the masked men entered the bus and ordered everyone to stick their hands up.  Then he remembered to ask the question of who wanted to have the best steak dinner chuck-wagon cookout in Montana to stick their hands up.  We had a great time.  We were entertained with some singing, some story telling, and a visit by a neighboring Indian Chief on horseback.

I've also included some pictures of recent fire damage,  Compare these pictures with those of 24 years of new growth in Yellowstone.

Tomorrow, we are to head south again for some more adventures.
