After we left BW RUBY's inn and Bryce canyon this we found a deserted house that looked promising. It was an old wooden cottage with holes in every wall and all over the roof which let sunrays in through the holes which created very interesting patterns of light and shadows. :)
Next we arrived at this state park with very interesting rocks. Especialy one formation that looked just like a fully erect pen*s complete with b*lls and all!! lol...
Our next target was something called Devil's garden and Peekanoo canyon. To get there we had to leave the main road and enter a narrow road consisting of flat rocks, gravel and sand. At first it didn't seem like such a bad idea and we stopped at Devils garden which had some really cool, orange rock formations
Then we continued on towards Peek-a-boo canyon and the not-so-bad idea quickly turned into not-so-good. The condition of the road got worse and occasionally held alot of gravel and sand. We also had to drive on this shaky dirt-road for a full hour to reach the canyon and then hike down steep rocks into the canyon. We got however some cool shots there but then we had to hike all the way back up again. Sand made u feel like you weren't getting anywhere and it was hot like h...! lol.. Then again.. an hour on the crappy, shakey dirtroad. Phew! lol..
When we got back to the near town, Escalante we found us a small motel as it was dark when we got back. After checking in we went to this small bar to get something to eat and what a bar! lol.. We first met a frisky and loud lady in the bar haveing a margaritha. And there was a guy performing in the corner, playing the guitaar and singing. Actually it was all a bit bisaar. Like a bar with hillbillies and whitetrash.. lol...
Now we are back at the motel for some sleep after this long but interesting day! ;-)
