First day! Our great railroad trip started with a little problem... there was a rockslide on the railway line between Italy and France so we reached the border by train, then we took a bus to Monaco-Ville, where we took another train to Nice.

Monaco, the Principality of Monaco, is famous for the Formula One Grand Prix, the luxury and the Casiṇ. We felt a little unconfortable, with a 17-kg backpack with hanging pots, bedrolls and shoes, in walking between a Cartier shop and a Channel Boutique, while some Ferraris and Rolls Royce passed along the street.

But our permanence in Monaco was very short - just the time to wait for out train (and thank God they didn't ask us to pay for the air we breathed in the meanwhile). Then off to Nice, where we choosed to find a nearby camping ground, so back on the train to Biot, near Antibes, where we found Ideal Camping.

It was the cheapest camping in the zone, and there was a reason for this. More than one, to be honest. The camping was very small, the tents were cramped, the toilettes where smelly.

But hey, it was just 150 meters from the train station and 200 from the beach, the camping was full of friendly people, including a very friendly Italian couple who made a Pasta-for-the-whole-camping party, they where travelling from somewhere in Italy to Biarriz with an old Panda 750, totally crazy!
